Day
01 : Chennai
On Arrival Chennai Airport/ Railway station you will be greeted
with a warm welcome by our representative & later assisted for
transfer to your hotel. Later in the afternoon after fresh up proceed
for a city tour of Chennai. Chennai formerly known as madras is
located on coromandal coast of Bay of Bengal. Chennai is the state
capital of Tamil Nadu & also the gateway to the rich & varied
culture of South Indian peninsulas. Chennai, the forth largest metropolis
in India, is a city of contrasts & diversities. Chennai is a
coastal city & also has the second largest beach in the world.
Chennai is a gracious city that has a clear skyline, sacred
temples, long shady beaches, attractive parks & gardens,
historic landmarks & tourist infrastructural facilities. Visit
Marina beach, St. George fort, Parthasarthi temple, Gunidy national
park, Snake park, Kapaleshwara temple, National art gallery, Fort
museum, Santhome church etc. Have a nice dinner & over night
stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram
After Break fast check out the hotel & proceed towards mahabalipuram
on the way visit Kanchipuram. Knachipuram or kanchi, as it is
popularly known, is one of the seven most sacred cities of the
hindus. It was once the capital of Cholas & pallavas. Kanchipuram
is referred as ‘golden city of temples’ & it is
believed to be the most attractive city of ancient India. This
small temple town is also called as ‘the silk city’,
because of its noted thriving handloom industries. It is an important
pilgrimage center of Hindus. It has almost 126 temples in the
city & few more in its outskirts. The temples of kanchipuram
have a typical Dravidian architecture which narrates the wonderful
cultural heritage of South India. Visit some beautifully carved
temples like Ekambarehwara temple, Kailasnatha temple, Kunta perumal
temple, Varadaraja perumal temple, Kamakshi temple etc. On arrival
mahabalipuram check in the hotel. Enjoy a delicious dinner &

Da 03 : Mahabalipuram
After Breakfast you will be taken to a city tour of mahabalipuram.
Mahabalipuram is also known as mamallapuram, ‘The city of
Bali’, is one of the world heritage sites of UNESCO. Mahabalipuram
is an ancient temple town of Tamil Nadu. Mahabalipuram has everything
that makes a site traditional, cultural, historical, and memorable.
It offers a unique combination of a superb group of monuments
& a fine beach resort. The monolithic monuments & stone
sculptures are the major attractions of mahabalipuram. Visit some
sacred temples like Shore temple, Bhagirathas penace (Arjuna’s
penace), Mahishasuramardhini cave temple, Krishna mandapa, Ulakkanath
temple, Varaha cave temple etc. Late in the evening return back
to the hotel. Have a nice dinner & over night stay at the
hotel.
Day 04 : Pondichery
After Break fast check out the hotel & proceed towards Pondicherry.
Pondicherry, also known as pondy is the former capital of French
territories in India, it was established n 1674 by French east
India company. The word Pondicherry is derived from the Tamil
word ‘puducheri’, which means ‘the new settlement’.
This small town is also referred as ‘French Rivera of east’.
Pondicherry traditionally a seat of Vedic cultures & yoga.
It also homes Aurobindo Ashram, founded by Sri Aurobindo in 1926
has brought an internationally reputation to this coastal town
& Auroville etc. Visit beach where you can relax & enjoy
in the evening, return back to the hotel. Enjoy a nice dinner

Day
05 : Chidambaram - Trichy
After Breakfast check out the hotel. Today you will be driven towards
Trichy on the way visit Chidambaram. Chidambaram is a marvelous
cultural, traditional & pilgrimage centre. It is also called
as Thillai Vanam. It is the highlights of temple circuit, because
it is believed that the Lord Nataraja (Shiva) to have performed
his cosmic dance here, ‘Tandavanritya’. The temples
here are in Dravidian art & architectural style. It is a place
where history & religious cultures merged with each other. On
arrival Trichy check into the hotel & proceed for a sight seeing
tour of Trichy. Trichy also called as tiruchirapalli, is situated
on the head of the fertile river cauvery, which is said to be the
holiest river in south India. Trichy is also referred as ‘Rome
of the East’. It has a great historical importance. The city’s
history is interwoven with the political fortunes of the pallavas,
cholas, nayakas & the British. The city is thriving commercial
centre of Tamil nadu & also it is noted for artificial diamonds,
cigars, handloom cloth, glass bangles, wooden & clay toys trichy
presents a magnificent blend of modernity & tradition. Trichy
is also one of the famous pilgrim centers of Tamil nadu, which has

06 : Madurai
After break fast check out the hotel & proceed to Madurai. Madurai
is one of the South India’s great temple towns. It is an ancient
city of Tamil Nadu which is situated on the banks of Vaigai river.
It was founded in the 6th century by the pandyan ruler kulasekara
& was once the capital of pandyan kings, later it became the
part of cholas & nayakas. Over the centuries it has been a rich
repository of Tamil culture. It is noted for its sacred temples
& synonymous with its celebrated Meenakshi temple. It is believed
that the Lord Shiva blessed the city & its people, on this auspicious
occasion the divine nectar (maduram) showered from Lord Shiva’s
locks & hence the city was named Madhurapuri, now is it called
as Madurai. On arrival madurai check in the hotel. After some refresh
up you will be driven for a city tour. Visit Meenakshi temple, Thirumalai
nayaka palace, Mariamman theppulam temple, Koodaalagar temple, Anglian
cathedral, Vaigai dam, Suruli waterfalls, Gandhi museum etc. Have

07 : Rameshwaram
After break fast check out the hotel & you will be moving towards
Rameshwaram. Rameshwaram is a major pilgrimage site & a holy
place for the hindus. It is also a happening holiday spot. Rameswaram
is the holy place, where lord Rama on his return from Sri Lanka
prayed to lord Shiva after his triumph over the demon king, Ravana
& also to wash away his sins in killing the Ravana. Rameswaram
is popularly famous for its 22 theerthas or well in & around
the main temple, where the taste of water of each well is different
from other. It is believed that the water of the wells possessed
medicinal properties. According to Hindu mythology, if one visits
rameshwaram & prays to lord Shiva, then one will be relived
of all one’s sins. It is one of the noted temple town of Tamil
nadu. On arrival rameshwaram check in the hotel. After some refresh
up you will be taken for a city tour. Visit Ramanathaswamy temple,
Kothandaramswamy temple, Dhanuskodi, Gandhamandhana parvatham, Kurusada
islands, Vettangudi bird sanctuary, Sokkattan mandapa temple etc.

08 : Madurai
