About 15kms from Munnar is the Eravikulam National Park. It has elephants, mountain goats, tigers and gaurs besides many other animals. You can also take a tour to Mattupetty, which is 13 kms from Munnar and at an attitude of 1,700 meters. It is popular because of the indo-swiss livestock project (a special dairy farm). The lake Mattupetty is just a little far away from the farm and also worth a closer look.
